Our motto: any fish, anytime, anywhere. All Think BIG Charters are a great learning experience for all clients regardless of angling skills We take the time to explain the inner workings on our charters of how & why we are fishing for a certain species. The lessons & techniques outlined on our charters are a great way of improving many facets of both boating & fishing successfully. Think BIG Snapper Charters

Chasing snapper in Western Port is at the heart of this business. It is what we live for and there is nothing we do better nor is there any other fish that means as much to us as Melbourne snapper. The foundations of Think BIG were forged after many many years of dedication to this species and this is where we truly excel compared to our peers. And we're not talking about school fish either, no, we are talking about genuine BIG RED, a term we feel is thrown around far to cheaply.

Every Spring huge, super wary adult snapper enter both Western Port & Port Phillip Bay along with the many millions school-sized snapper. And while these smaller bread'n'butter school fish in the 2 to 7kg range do provide many satisfied clients over a season, its the enigma of Western Port's BIG RED that captures most peoples imagination.

These large trophy fish, especially the big knobby male snapper, don't come easy and are a species we hold in very high regard. In our opinion there is not a tougher angling challenge in Melbourne than finding, hooking and landing one of these big beats, especially those over the magical mark of 20lbs. Snapper at this size are often around 30 to 50 years old and are so because they are incredible wary of man. We are dedicated to these fish and do our utmost to help seek out these large Red Beasts. To us they are a species unto themselves and not to be confused with every day school snapper.

From time to time throughout October & November there'll be select 'Special BIG RED Charters'. These charters are best suited to clients who have landed school sized Snapper & are keen to step up to the plate of hunting BIG RED in Western Port & Port Phillip Bay. As with all forms of fishing, but especially Trophy sized Snapper, success can never be guaranteed, however the lessons learnt on a Think BIG Charter are of a huge benefit to all clients future Big Snapper sessions.

Think BIG Spring Snapper Charters:

Follow this link for our current Think BIG Charter Dates for Gummy & Whiting Charters. Once you've decided on a suitable date, just give us a call-txt or email for further information on latest captures as well as booking deposits & charter launch times. We will contact you 2 days prior to charter to confirm & incase of any last minute alterations. IE: Change of location or adjustment of launch/departure time. We cater for small groups of up to 5 people or individuals. With group bookings we do prefer 3, 4 or 5 people as a minimum in a group and it is always the responsibilty of the customer to assemble their own group before booking. We often receive single bookings & generally require a group of 4 to 5 single bookings before a charter takes place. However we have had small groups of just 2 clients hire the boat out many times.
